Example: HP Spectre x360 - 15-ch011dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm having some issues with my laptop since last week. Model involved is HP Spectre x360 - 15-ch011dx

I sometimes lose the left click function of my touchpad after 7 hours of using it.  The problem doesn't happen all the time. I work from home. The only way I have to make the left click work is to restart my laptop. Also noticed my laptop screen is flickering during the restart booting period whenever I have the left click touchpad problem.  I don't have the flickering issues when i boot up in the morning or when I start working.

I tried to find solutions by going here

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-spectre-15-ch000-x360-convertible-pc/16779588/mo...

I already downloaded the bios here and didn't work.

I tried downloading this --Synaptics TouchPad Driver (Windows 10 v1803) and it didn't help much

need help. thank you and stay safe

@gojira35 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the left click touchpad is losing its function and the screen flickers during restart booting.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

Please run the SFC scan. you can refer to this Link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4026529/windows-10-using-system-file-checker

hi, why do i have to do the SFC scan?

i always do windows update and just did the hp support assistant updates. will check if the problem will stop showing

i really don't know why i would lose my left click function on my touchpad. i would only regain the function after i restart the laptop. what other bothers me that my screen flickers during the restart boot up process.

@gojira35

Thank you for the update.

The issue seems to be battery bulged.

I would suggest you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
