Hi @DIVY20,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Notebook 14s-cr1016tx laptop. The "white strap" issue you're describing sounds like a hardware or display problem. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve this issue.

  • Check for Loose Cables: Ensure that the cable connecting the laptop's display to the motherboard is properly seated. If it's loose or damaged, it can cause display issues.
  • Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed for your laptop. Outdated or corrupt drivers can lead to display problems. You can usually find the latest drivers on the HP support website.
  • Run Built-in Diagnostics: Many laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware issues. Check your laptop's user manual or HP's website for instructions on running diagnostics.
  • External Display: Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV to see if the issue persists. If the external display works fine, it could indicate a problem with the laptop's built-in screen.
  • Safe Mode: Boot your laptop into Safe Mode (usually by pressing F8 or another key during startup) to see if the issue still occurs. If the issue doesn't occur in Safe Mode, it could be caused by a third-party software or driver.
  • Check for Physical Damage: Inspect your laptop's screen for physical damage. If you see cracks or other damage, that could be the source of the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
