@tamunomietelj, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop's screen brightness isn't increasing on Windows 11, here are several steps you can try to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

Use Keyboard Brightness Keys

Most HP laptops have brightness keys on the top row (usually F2 and F3). Try pressing them while holding the Fn key.

Adjust Brightness via Settings

  1. Go to SettingsSystemDisplay.
  2. Under Brightness & color, try adjusting the Brightness slider.

If the slider is missing or grayed out, continue with the next steps.

Update Display Drivers

  1. Right-click the Start button → Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display adapters.
  3. Right-click your display adapter (e.g., Intel UHD Graphics) → Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.

You can also visit HP official website or Intel’s driver support page to manually download the latest graphics drivers.

Enable Generic PnP Monitor

  1. In Device Manager, expand Monitors.
  2. If Generic PnP Monitor is disabled, right-click and choose Enable device.

Check Power Plan Settings

  1. Go to Control PanelPower Options.
  2. Click Change plan settings next to your selected plan.
  3. Click Change advanced power settings.
  4. Expand DisplayEnable adaptive brightness and turn it Off.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
