@tamunomietelj, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop's screen brightness isn't increasing on Windows 11, here are several steps you can try to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
Use Keyboard Brightness Keys
Most HP laptops have brightness keys on the top row (usually F2 and F3). Try pressing them while holding the Fn key.
Adjust Brightness via Settings
- Go to Settings → System → Display.
- Under Brightness & color, try adjusting the Brightness slider.
If the slider is missing or grayed out, continue with the next steps.
Update Display Drivers
- Right-click the Start button → Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click your display adapter (e.g., Intel UHD Graphics) → Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
You can also visit HP official website or Intel’s driver support page to manually download the latest graphics drivers.
Enable Generic PnP Monitor
- In Device Manager, expand Monitors.
- If Generic PnP Monitor is disabled, right-click and choose Enable device.
Check Power Plan Settings
- Go to Control Panel → Power Options.
- Click Change plan settings next to your selected plan.
- Click Change advanced power settings.
- Expand Display → Enable adaptive brightness and turn it Off.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
