Good day! I had two of the same computers, one had a newer version processor on it, and NO touchscreen, while the other one had an older processor and YES on touchscreen. The one that had touchscreen, its model is,15-bs013dx. The other model is, 15-bs212wm. Upon looking at the internals, they are the exact same, give or take a few components, like 2 DDr4 slots vs one. Bigger vs smaller network/WLAN chip, one has an SSD port, one doesn't. There is one issue i did see, the newer computer did not have a heatsink, or cooling fan. it has the space for both, and an unsoldered plugin for a fan, but it was blank. NONE OF THIS IS IMPORTANT. I damaged the screen on the newer one. I was like, well they are the same computer so..... I ended up replacing the screen with the one from the old computer. it is touchscreen. EVERYTHING works.
Except this one issue. The screen turns on during the boot sequence, but the second that Windows is mounted and loaded, (like when the little buffering wheel goes away and then its black for a few second before the login screen) the display turns off. completely off. I've checked the connections, I've checked everything I can possibly think of, and I'm stumped. id love to not have to buy a whole new screen, because I like the touchscreen. THE SCREEN WORKS, UNTILL IT RUNS WINDOWS. UPDATE!!! I got it working again. I had to UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL THE GRAPHICS DRIVER.

Hi @dogloverbrother,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Great job troubleshooting and fixing the issue! 🎉 Uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics driver was the right move since Windows likely wasn't recognizing the touchscreen display correctly after the swap.
If you run into touchscreen issues (like touch not working), you might also need to:
Enable Touchscreen: Check Device Manager > Human Interface Devices and enable HID-compliant touch screen if it's disabled.
Update Chipset & Graphics Drivers: Use HP Support Assistant or go to Intel’s website for the latest drivers.
Calibrate Touch Input: Search for "Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input" in Windows settings.
Let me know if you run into anything else! 😊
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
