pavilion dv6-6c55se
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi,

i have hp pavilion dv6-6c55se laptop. last night i tried to mirror my phone on my pc ( using project to this pc option on windows ). there was a step on that which i had to make some changes on the registry of the windows ( group policy > computer confiuration > administrative templates > windows components > connect ). then the electricity was gone. the screen became black. i tried connecting HDMI cable to see the windows. i then tried installing the graphics driver, then the HDMI picture has been gone! now i cannot see anything anywhere!! even when i turn on my laptop, the bios page ( even at the begining of the startup and cannot access bios at all ) is blank! my lcd is on and it's not the off screen black. it's gray kind of thing, it's on but has no picture.

what i tried until now:

i tried windows key + b to reset bios ( as explained in hp site ) but no sound is being generated ( beep sound ) and the screen is black for about 10 minutes! but nothing...

i tried swapping out memories and swapping them in again, not solved.

i also tried win key + ctrl + shift + b in windows to wake up monitor, but not solved...

i even have removed my bios battery and held the power button for 1 minute apx, but the problem not solved even with this thing.

my windows is working fine! it boots up completely. i can access windows with my fingerprint, i can even play music in windows using the windows search tool.... but i cannot see any picture on my laptop's lcd or on the TV using HDMI...

can you help me find out what the problem is?

i cannot see any errors or anything like that. i think you can reproduce the issue using the steps i had, but as it's not resolved yet, i dont know exactly...

thanks.

@farid1,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

This looks to be a possible hardware failure with the notebook. However, I would suggest you try these steps here:

Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the notebook

Before power resetting your computer, do the following:

  1. Disconnect or remove all peripheral devices. Start up the laptop and test the computer by itself, and then reconnect one peripheral device at a time.

  2. Turn over the computer and look for a battery compartment door.

I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings. That way it will look at the Hardware installed on the Notebook.

Once done, restart the computer and check.

If you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue. I would suggest this could be a possible hardware failure with the notebook. I would recommend you contact our HP support team for further assistance.

HP support team can be reached on this link

Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.

That said, Take care and have a great day!

Thank you 😉
