Hi @Prasanth_prashu

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how disappointing it feels when your HP Pen suddenly stops responding, especially when you rely on it for smooth interaction. Let’s go through clear steps together to bring it back to life.

Step 1: Check Battery or Power

  • If your HP Pen uses a battery, replace it with a fresh one.
  • For rechargeable pens, connect it to the charger and allow it to fully charge before testing again.

Step 2: Confirm Bluetooth Connection (if applicable)

  • On your Windows 10/11 laptop, open Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & devices.
  • Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  • If your pen supports pairing, check if it appears in the list. If not, press and hold the pairing button on the pen until it shows up, then connect.

Step 3: Test Pen Settings

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
  • Ensure pen input is enabled and configured correctly.
  • Try writing in Sticky Notes or Whiteboard to confirm responsiveness.

Step 4: Update Drivers

  • Open the HP App on your computer.
  • Select your device, then go to Updates and install any available driver or firmware updates for the pen and touch system.
  • You can also check here: HP Software and Driver Downloads

Step 5: Run Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Touchscreen Test to confirm whether the digitizer is responding.
  • If the touchscreen passes but the pen does not, the issue is isolated to the pen itself.

Step 6: Reset Pen

  • If your pen has a reset button or pairing button, press and hold it for 5–10 seconds.
  • Reconnect it to your laptop and test again.

You’ve already shown patience by checking the pen and noticing it isn’t working. These steps will help us determine whether the issue is with the pen hardware, the battery, or the system settings.
