HP USB-C Mini Dock
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My pc is HP Pavilion 14-CE Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz

The first monitor is running HDMI on the laptop to HDMI on the monitor no problem.

I am having problems running the second monitor from the UBS-C port. My monitor is ultrawide with 2560x1080p 60hrtz.  I have bought 2 cables both claiming to support video output from USB-C to HDMI but neither have worked so far.

I bought HP mini USB-C dockstation and didnt work as well, so didnt work with the docktation and directly whith the cable HDMI 3.0 4K

What can i do to resolve this problem?

@marcodo,

According to your PC's specs, you have one (1) "USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate)" port, see: HP Pavilion - 14-ce3064st Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support.

My take based on HP's specification, quote: "data transfer only", I highly suspect that this USB-C port is not using USB Alternate Modes. USB Alternate Mode is what is used to carry DisplayPort or Thunderbolt signals over USB-C. There would also be a physical internal connections to these chipsets to allow the transferring of that data.

Anyways, what this means -again as I read it, that this port is most likely only connected to the USB controller. Therefore, unfortunately, you cannot use it to connect an external monitor...

Kind Regards,
