Hi @SMtz,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand you'd like to reinstall the HID-compliant touch screen driver. Before we proceed, please provide a few details so we can give you the correct steps for your HP computer:

  1. What is the exact HP computer model/product number?
  2. Which operating system are you using, Windows 10 or Windows 11?
  3. Is HID-compliant touch screen currently visible under Device Manager > Human Interface Devices, or is it completely missing?
  4. Is the touchscreen not working at all, or does it work intermittently/inaccurately?

For reference, HP's published Windows 10 touchscreen procedure states that when an HID-compliant touch screen is present in Device Manager, you can enable it if disabled. If the touchscreen still does not respond, HP instructs you to uninstall the HID-compliant touch screen and then restart the computer, which reinstalls the touchscreen driver.

Please do not uninstall other HID devices until we know your exact HP model and confirm whether the touchscreen entry is present.

You can also review HP's official guidance here: HP PCs - Troubleshooting touch screen issues in Windows 10 | HP® Support

Reply with the four details above, and we can guide you with the appropriate next steps for your specific HP computer.

I'm an HP Employee.
