HP Pavilion g6-1115sv Notebook PC

so my notebook has two GPUs: intergrated graphics from the AMD Phenom II x4 P960 (ATI HD 4200M) and discrete  (Radeon HD 6470M) Ive tried countless drivers (the original HP ones too) but no luck. both GPUS appear as "standard VGA Graphics adapter" and one of them gets code 10/43 on device manager. I even took it to a local technician and they only got drivers for the 4200M, which has poor performance on gaming. The 6470M would appear as well but no matter what i did, no program actually used or even detected the discrete card, except Device Manager and DDU. I also tried disabling the intergrated card, which led me to the trash driverless Win7 experience; basic theme, low res.  All the tools from HP are now for Windows 10/11, which i am not "upgrading" (downgrading) to for personal reasons.

I would really appreciate any help on this!

Below are the info and exe links to the W7x64 driver you need for that graphics configuration:

update: no it does the same thing. it shows two VGA Graphics adapters, one of them with code 10, just like the other drivers i tried..

Edit: it fixed itself but i still cannot use the discrete card on any program. Not even Catalyst Control Center detects it (it does detect theres a High-perfomance GPU in the system but not a 6470M). I also tried disabling the intergrated GPU, which gives me no Graphics acceleration and catayst detects no GPU in the system.

You're very welcome.

My opinion is that the AMD HD 6470M GPU has overheated and failed during the time and cannot accept the driver anymore.

That is not an uncommon issue due to the age of your notebook.

If you have been using it for gaming over the years, you can pretty much bet that is the problem.
