HP ENVY x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello! I have an HP ENVY x360 notebook. When chatting on Zoom or Face Time the screen colors are awful. It must be the camera because the pictures on the web are correct and pictures i download of the family are color correct.  Everything has a purple tint no matter how the room is lite. I have tried natural light, soft light and more. The picture is dark. I have checked Zoom for color correction control and they do not have any. How do i adjust the colors?

@Ruby517 I suggest you follow the below steps to resolve all image quality related issues:

  • Make sure your video recording environment has good lighting.

  • Change the image quality, brightness, contrast, and other adjustments in the webcam software.

To resolve problems with choppy playback, take the following actions:

  • Reduce the size of the video image in the webcam software.

  • Use a high-speed Internet connection.

  • Do not use other high-speed USB devices while using the webcam.

To troubleshoot other video quality problems, refer to one of the following HP support documents:

I think my issue is same / similar.

The colors are washed out and low contrast.    I know this is not a lighting issue.   in exactly same location, my iPhone camera image looks great.    Example:  Red colors are highly skewed to purplish side

The issue is Webcam / camera itself and unrelated to using Zoom, Google Meets, Skype... etc.

Using Windows 10.   When I type in "camera" or "Webcam" the application that pops up does not have any adjustments to fiddle with colors and contrasts.      I have found some hints here on the HP site there is some software for the camera.   What is the name so I can search?   If for some reason it was never installed, where can I get / download it?     Where is it and what is the name so I can install or reinstall?

Much appreciate and cheers

Tom

This is Tom once again.   I have scanned my PC looking for software called "Touch smart..."   Nothing there.   Also redownloaded and installed  driver..

File File size File Name HP True Vision Full HD (FHD) RGB-IR Webcam Driver 24.8 MB sp84485.exe

There is no difference.   No way to adjust the Webcam camera.    No software called Touch smart....

Until COVID - have not had need to use the camera !  <smile>     If it helps, here is m

Tom here again.   As it's been a very long time and no reply,  I presume this is a known hardware issue with the HP laptop.   Cannot be fixed and HP elects not to respond.    Disappointing.
