@tish54Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding flickering screen!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

For your HP Spectre x360 with screen flickering, here's a troubleshooting guide you can follow:

Check Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down and click on Advanced display settings.
  • Ensure your screen refresh rate is set to the recommended value (usually 60Hz or higher).

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Display adapters section.
  • Right-click on your graphics driver and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Adjust Power Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Select High performance to avoid any power-saving features that might cause flickering.

Disable Hardware Acceleration:

  • If you notice flickering while using specific apps (like Chrome), try disabling hardware acceleration.
  • For Chrome: Go to Settings > Advanced > System and turn off Use hardware acceleration when available.

Perform a System Update:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Check for External Interference:

  • If you're using external displays or USB devices, disconnect them to rule out any interference.

Test in Safe Mode:

  • Boot the laptop in Safe Mode to see if the flickering persists. If it doesn’t, the issue might be with a third-party application or driver.

Let me know if you need help with any of these steps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
