Hi @Ayush154

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Screen flickering can be a real productivity killer—and a strain on the eyes too.

Let’s tackle this head-on with a structured fix-it guide tailored to your HP 15-d5000 running Windows 11.

1. Update Your Display Drivers

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters, right-click your graphics card (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA), and choose Update driver.
  • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

If flickering persists, try uninstalling the driver:

  • In Device Manager, right-click the display adapter and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop—Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

2. Adjust Refresh Rate

  • Right-click on the desktop and choose Display settings.
  • Scroll down to Advanced display settings.
  • Under Refresh rate, select the recommended value or try lowering it slightly to see if it stabilizes the screen.

3. Disable Hardware Acceleration (for browsers or apps)

  • For Chrome: Settings > System > Use hardware acceleration when available → toggle off.
  • For Edge: Settings > System and performance > Use hardware acceleration → toggle off.

4. Check for Incompatible Apps

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  • Uninstall any recently added or graphics-heavy apps that might be interfering.

5. Run Windows Troubleshooter

  • Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

6. Perform a Clean Boot

  • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
  • Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services and click Disable all.
  • Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > disable all startup items.
  • Restart your laptop.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, we might be looking at a hardware-level problem—like a loose display cable or a failing panel. Want help checking for that next?
