@muniram012, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing screen glitching and rapid color changes on your HP laptop. Let's work together to resolve this.

Perform a Hard Reset

This helps clear temporary hardware issues:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Disconnect all peripherals (USB devices, external monitors, etc.).
  • Unplug the power adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and turn the laptop back on.

Check for External Display Issues

If available, connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using HDMI.

  • If the external display works fine, the issue is likely with your laptop’s screen or display cable.
  • If both screens show glitches, it may be a graphics driver or hardware issue.

Update Graphics Drivers

Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause display issues.

  • Go to Device Manager → Expand Display adapters.
  • Right-click your graphics card and select Update driver.
  • Alternatively, download the latest drivers from HP Support: Official HP® Support

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

HP provides built-in diagnostics to check for hardware faults:

  • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly during startup.
  • Select Component TestsDisplay.
  • Run the test and note any error codes.

BIOS Update (if available)

Sometimes a BIOS update can fix display-related bugs:

  • Visit HP Support -Official HP® Support and enter your laptop’s model number.
  • Check for BIOS updates under the Drivers section.

Safe Mode Check

Boot into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists:

  • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
  • Under the Boot tab, check Safe bootMinimal.
  • Restart and observe the display behavior.

If the issue disappears in Safe Mode, it’s likely a software or driver conflict.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the problem may be hardware-related. In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - India | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
