spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My new spectre x360 initially did not have the option to change the settings of the touchpad scroll direction. after a lot of timewasting i called hp support and the technician installed an older driver which has the option to adjust the settings.  This driver however only changes the settings when operating the settings window, all other apps seem to ignore my settings and keep the reverse scrolling operation. Has anyone found a solution to this? it is quite frustrating.

Yes, I’ve seen that problem with some drivers. My own touchpad problems have had me try half a dozen different drivers, all with some problem or another. That was one of them. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a driver that doesn’t exhibit some problem, so I don’t have a solid suggestion for you.

If you don’t mind me asking, what driver did the tech have you install? If it isn’t one I’ve tried yet, I would gladly do so—incorrect scroll direction would be the least of the problems I’ve experienced so far.

I have been trying to look at what driver i had installed but can't seem to find what the filename is. The driver details tab comes up with a whole lot of options. It seems to be working now. The device is a synaptics HID TouchPad driver, date is 20/12/2018 version 19.5.35.22.

The one recommended for my spectre x360 is a november 2012 version 17, so i think the tech selected a different device and used that driver.

Maybe you can get the driver off that version number...
