the taskbar is unlocked but does not hide. i have to click the windows icon on bottom left 2 times to make taskbar hide

@stevesim, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Let us try these steps:

 

Right-click your taskbar and choose “Taskbar Settings”.

Make sure that the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option is enabled.

 

If the issue persists, check for pending windows update and restart the computer. 

 

Alternatively, the F11 shortcut works on all Windows versions. So if you have VLC and File Explorer open, both will go fullscreen hiding the taskbar. On some keyboards (especially laptops), you will have to press Fn+F11 keys. It depends on your keyboard layout and the make and model of your PC.
