@SUMANROY, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP notebook’s touchpad isn’t responding and the cursor is missing, here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check if the Touchpad is Disabled

  • Some HP laptops have a touchpad toggle key (usually F5, F6, or F7) or a small dot in the upper-left corner of the touchpad. Double-tap the dot or press Fn + [Touchpad key] to enable it.
  • You can also check via Settings:
    • Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Touchpad
    • Make sure the touchpad is enabled

Use Device Manager to Reinstall the Touchpad Driver

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager
  • Expand Mice and other pointing devices
  • Right-click on the touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics, ELAN, or HID-compliant touchpad) and choose Uninstall device
  • Restart your laptop, Windows should reinstall the driver automatically

Update or Reinstall Drivers from HP

  • Visit the official HP support page: Official HP® Support
  • Enter your laptop’s model number and download the latest Touchpad or Input drivers

Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS
  • Look for Internal Pointing Device and ensure it’s enabled
  • Save changes and exit

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Shut down the laptop
  • Disconnect all external devices and power adapter
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds
  • Reconnect power and turn on the laptop

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
