Hi @danglow,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the touch screen on your HP Spectre Folio Convertible 13 is not working despite updating the drivers, here are steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue.

Confirm Touchscreen is Enabled

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Human Interface Devices and locate HID-compliant touch screen.
  • Right-click it and ensure Enable device is selected. If it's already enabled, proceed to the next steps.

Run the Troubleshooter

  • Search "Troubleshoot" in the Windows search bar and open the Troubleshoot settings.
  • Click Additional troubleshooters (or Other troubleshooters in Windows 11).
  • Select Hardware and Devices or Touchscreen if available, and run the troubleshooter.

Reinstall Touchscreen Drivers

  • Go to Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant touch screen.
  • Right-click and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your PC. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.

Check Display Settings

  • Open Control Panel > Tablet PC Settings.
  • Under Display, check if the touch functionality is listed. If not, this could indicate a hardware issue.

Check for System Updates

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and ensure all updates, including optional ones, are installed.
  • Look for firmware updates for your device on HP Support Assistant.

Test in UEFI Diagnostics

  • Restart the laptop and press Esc repeatedly during boot.
  • Select F2 for System Diagnostics.
  • Check for a Touchscreen Test in the diagnostics menu. If the test fails, the touchscreen hardware may be faulty.

Disable Third-Party Software

  • Some third-party software or drivers can conflict with the touchscreen functionality.
  • Try booting in Safe Mode (press Windows + R, type msconfig, and select Safe Boot under the Boot tab) to see if the issue persists.

Perform a BIOS Update

  • Check the HP website for a BIOS update for the Spectre Folio.
  • Update the BIOS carefully following HP's guidelines.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
