Hi @PC127,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 laptop's touchscreen has stopped working and you're seeing a Code 10 error for the touchscreen driver, there are several steps you can take to try and resolve the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide.

Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can solve temporary glitches. Restart your laptop and see if the touchscreen starts working again.

Update Touchscreen Driver:

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select "Device Manager."
  • Find the section for "Human Interface Devices" and expand it.
  • Locate the touchscreen driver. It might be under a section like "HID-compliant touch screen" or something similar.
  • Right-click on the touchscreen driver and choose "Update driver."
  • Select "Search automatically for updated driver software" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Rollback Driver (if recently updated):

  • If the touchscreen driver was recently updated, you can try rolling back to the previous version.
  • In the Device Manager, right-click on the touchscreen driver and select "Properties."
  • Go to the "Driver" tab and click on "Roll Back Driver" if it's not grayed out.

Uninstall and Reinstall Driver:

  • In the Device Manager, right-click on the touchscreen driver and select "Uninstall device."
  • Restart your laptop.
  • Windows will automatically reinstall the touchscreen driver.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, a system update includes fixes for hardware issues.

System Restore:

  • If the problem started after a recent change or update, you can use System Restore to revert your system to a previous state.
  • Type "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar and select the corresponding result.
  • In the System Properties window, click on the "System Restore" button and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Ensure that there's no physical damage to the touchscreen.
  • Check the laptop's documentation or HP's support website for specific diagnostic tools for your model.

Reinstall Windows (if necessary):

  • As a last resort, you may consider reinstalling Windows. This should only be done if all other options fail, as it will erase all data on your laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
