Hi @ArtL2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP ENVY x360's touchpad driver might be missing or not properly installed. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check for Hidden Devices:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Click on "View" and select "Show hidden devices."
  • Look for any touchpad-related devices under "Mice and other pointing devices" or "Other devices."

Update Drivers:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
  • Right-click on any device under "Mice and other pointing devices" and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software" to let Windows find the driver.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • Download and install HP Support Assistant if you don't have it.
  • Open the application and run a diagnostic scan. It might detect missing drivers and suggest installations.

Download from HP’s Website:

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Enter your laptop’s model number and select your operating system.
  • Look for drivers under the "Driver-Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices" section. Even if it doesn’t specifically list a touchpad driver, there might be a relevant driver available.

Check Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Check for updates to ensure you have the latest drivers and system updates.

System Restore:

  • If the touchpad was working before and you recently reset your system, you might consider using System Restore to revert to a point before the reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
