Hello, I am using the HP Pavilion 15-EC200 model. I cannot activate the touchpad in any way. After doing a little research, an error appears in the IC2 driver, but there is no place where I can update the driver. If there are friends who encounter this problem, what is the solution?

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with your HP Pavilion 15 touchpad and suspect it's related to the I2C driver, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
- Check Device Manager: Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager." Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark or under the "Human Interface Devices" section. This could indicate a problem with the I2C driver.
- Update Driver: If you see any devices with issues in Device Manager, try updating the driver for those devices. Right-click on the device, select "Update driver," and then choose either "Search automatically for updated driver software" or "Browse my computer for driver software" if you have a specific driver file.
- Download Driver from HP: If the driver isn't automatically updated or if you can't find it in Device Manager, you can try downloading the driver from HP's official website. Go to the HP support website, enter your laptop's model number (Pavilion 15), and look for the latest touchpad/I2C drivers available for your specific model.
- Reinstall Driver: If updating the driver doesn't work, try uninstalling the touchpad/I2C driver from Device Manager and then reinstalling it. Right-click on the device, select "Uninstall device," and then restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver upon reboot.
- Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes, Windows updates can include driver updates that could resolve compatibility issues. Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date by checking for and installing any available updates.
- Check HP Support Assistant: HP often provides a support assistant tool that can automatically detect and install driver updates for your specific laptop model. Check if your laptop has HP Support Assistant installed and use it to scan for updates.
Remember to back up important files before making any major changes to your system, such as driver updates or reinstalls, to avoid potential data loss.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
