I have had this Chromebook for a few years now and when I got it I mainly used the touchscreen and ever since I have not been able to get my mouse to show up. I have tried all the options of completely power washing it, clicking the top left corner twice quickly, practically everything and I don't know what else to do?

Hi @jennafeld,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing touchpad issues with your HP Chromebook X360. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.
- Clean the touchpad: Sometimes, dust or debris on the touchpad can interfere with its functionality. Use a soft cloth or a microfiber cloth to gently clean the touchpad surface.
- Disable and re-enable the touchpad: Press the Search key or the Launcher key (usually represented by the magnifying glass or the circle icon) and type "touchpad" in the search bar. Select "Touchpad settings" from the search results. In the Touchpad settings, toggle the touchpad off and on again.
- Update Chrome OS: Make sure your Chromebook is running the latest version of Chrome OS. To update, click on the system clock in the bottom-right corner of the screen, select the Settings gear icon, then go to "About Chrome OS" and click "Check for updates." If updates are available, let them install and restart your Chromebook.
- Powerwash your Chromebook: Performing a powerwash will reset your Chromebook to its factory settings and may help resolve touchpad issues. However, this will remove all locally stored data, so make sure to back up any important files. To powerwash, click on the system clock, select the Settings gear icon, then go to "Advanced" and click on "Powerwash." Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
- Connect a USB mouse: If the touchpad still doesn't work properly, try connecting a USB mouse to your Chromebook. If the external mouse functions correctly, it suggests an issue specifically with the touchpad hardware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
