Hi @sujsujay,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about the touchpad stopped working, especially when you rely on it daily. Don’t worry let me help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Did the issue start after a Windows update or driver update?
  • Is the touchpad completely unresponsive, or does it work intermittently?
  • Have you tried using an external mouse, and does that work fine?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try in the meantime:

  1. Restart your PC – Sometimes a simple reboot clears temporary driver glitches.
  2. Update/Reinstall the Touchpad Driver
    • Open Device Manager, right-click the touchpad driver, and select Update driver.
    • If that doesn’t help, try Uninstall device and then restart your PC. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
  3. Check Windows Updates – Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
  4. Enable Touchpad in Settings – Navigate to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and confirm it’s turned on.
  5. BIOS/UEFI Settings – the touchpad may be disabled in BIOS. Restart your PC, enter BIOS setup, and check if the touchpad is enabled.

I hope this helps.
