I am sorry you don't like your computer. That is always a discovery no one wants to make.
Touchpad sensitivity, regardless of computer brand, is a setting available in Windows.
Settings > Devices > Touchpad >
Adjust the Touchpad sensitivity level
If you like, while you have the setup open, check the other available Touchpad settings.

If there is no difference after having tried the "least sensitive" setting, then the issue is likely elsewhere.
HP Drivers and Windows Updates
If you have not already done so during your initial setup of your machine, with the exception of the BIOS update, check for and update the HP Drivers for your computer and run Windows Updates.
Open Support Home
Enter the name of your device
When the website support page opens, Select a Category > Software and Drivers
BIOS Update
After installation of the HP Drivers, check for a BIOS update; if one is available, download-save-and-apply the BIOS update.
If you think the system hardware is at fault, run the component level Diagnostics
HP COMPUTING DIAGNOSTIC SOLUTIONS - Keyboard, Mouse, TouchPad, and ClickPad issues
Scroll down, expand More Solutions
Select USE HP PC HARDWARE DIAGNOSTICS >
Read the instructions, download the software, run the test
Contact HP Tech Support, open a case, explain the problem, provide your test results, and ask for help.
