@screen93, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble with the two-finger gesture on your HP laptop's touchpad running Windows 10. You've already tried updating, rolling back, and reinstalling the driver, but the gesture settings still don’t appear correctly. Let's work through this step-by-step to get it resolved.
Check Touchpad Settings in Windows
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Devices > Touchpad.
- Under Scroll and Zoom, ensure Drag two fingers to scroll is enabled.
- If you don’t see this option, proceed to the next step.
Update or Reinstall the Touchpad Driver
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click on your touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics, ELAN, or HID-compliant touchpad) and choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
If that doesn’t help:
- Right-click the touchpad device again and choose Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Install the Correct OEM Driver from HP
Generic drivers may not support all gestures. Please install the original HP touchpad driver:
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your laptop’s model number.
- Select your operating system (Windows 10 64-bit).
- Look under Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices.
- Download and install the latest Synaptics or ELAN touchpad driver listed.
Enable Gestures in the Touchpad Control Panel
After installing the correct driver:
- Open Control Panel > Mouse.
- Look for a tab like Device Settings, ELAN, or Synaptics.
- Click Settings or Options.
- Enable Two-Finger Scrolling and other gestures.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
