Hi @wilscot1959

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I am sorry for the frustration you are experiencing with the touchscreen on your HP Pavilion 15‑eg2000 after upgrading to Windows 11 Pro. I understand how discouraging it feels when a feature you rely on disappears from the system, and I appreciate the effort you’ve already made in checking the Human Interface Devices list.

Here are some steps you can try to restore touchscreen functionality:

Step 1: Run Windows Update

  • Press the Windows key, type “Windows Update,” and open the settings.
  • Install all available updates, including optional driver updates.
  • Restart the laptop after updates are applied.

Step 2: Use HP Support Assistant / HP App

  • Open the HP App on your PC.
  • Go to “Devices” > “My PC” > “Updates.”
  • Install any available driver or firmware updates, especially those related to input or HID devices.

Step 3: Check Device Manager for Hidden Devices

  • Press Windows + X and select “Device Manager.”
  • Click “View” > “Show hidden devices.”
  • Expand “Human Interface Devices” and look for “HID‑compliant touch screen.”
  • If it appears grayed out, right‑click and select “Enable device.”

Step 4: Reinstall HID Drivers

  • In Device Manager, right‑click “HID‑compliant touch screen” (if present) and select “Uninstall device.”
  • Restart the laptop, and Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

Step 5: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart the laptop and press F2 repeatedly to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the touchscreen test to confirm hardware functionality.

Step 6: Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

These steps should help bring the touchscreen back into Windows after the upgrade.

Would you like me to also share the step‑by‑step process for running the touchscreen hardware test in HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, so you can confirm whether the issue is driver‑related or hardware‑related?

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Might work with a WACOM driver. Do a search on Google for possible solutions others have tried.  I got my touchscreen going on my 2011 HP Elitebook 2760p with Win 11 upgrade last year.  That shows it might work in your more recent laptop.  Good luck.
