Hi @rosawoodsii -- Your model is HP Pavilion 15-au0xx. It is on the list, and you'll need to install SP81891.

Thank you.

I'm curious.  How did you find the model number?

I searched for W2L51UA#ABA on the HP Support site, and it returned HP Pavilion 15-au062nr(ENERGY STAR).

Okay, now I'm confused.

I went to the HP support site to look up my laptop, and it gave me a list of documents, one of which says HP Pavilion 15-qu062n4 (Touch) (Energy Star).  My laptop is most definitely does not have a touch screen, and I can find no label which says “Energy Star”.

However, I just went to the service bulletin and can't find either model number on the list, which is rather peculiar since I found and downloaded the patch for HP Pavilion 15-au0xx. I got a message 3 times saying the file was corrupted and to try to download it again.  Now it’s not there.  In fact, HP Pavilion is not listed at all.

Is this the correct bulletin? https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05827409

There's a touchscreen version and a non-touchscreen version of your notebook, yours being the non-touch (the 15-au0xx). The touch version has a "t" after the 15 (15t-au000). Both versions are listed on the same line in the security bulletin. Here's a screenshot:

That is the correct bulletin that you linked. I would recommend trying a different browser...seems like those errors are often due to the browser not playing nice with the download.

PeaceLily, What is the difference between the Pavilion 15-au0xx and the Pavilion 15-au062n4, which is what HP support site returned to me?  It appears you found both models listed as well.

There isn't a difference. The "xx" at the end of 15-au0xx stand in for any numbers (so that the single model number can represent the whole series of notebooks), and the "nr" at the end of your specific model number is a country code.

Got it! Thank you.

One more question.  I haven't been able to tell whether my cousin's computer needs this fix.  I think it probably doesn't because she doesn't have the CPU issues that mine had, but I'd like to verify that.

HP Pavilion 14 Notebook,  energy star, touch screen

Product code G658UA#ABA.

Could you double check that product number? I think it's missing a character.

You're right, I did miss a number.  It's G6568UA#ABA.  Thank you.
