My HP laptop computer now runs windows 11. There no drivers on HP web site for my computer and Windows 11. (Only windows 10) Later windows 10 drivers are not being permitted to install. I tried to install a driver from the Intel web site and got a message that the manufacturer had "locked" the driver. Does this mean that I can never update drivers? The driver in question is for the Intel 620 graphics card. The current driver, dated 2018, seems to be operating OK.

Hello @Nelway
I strongly advise you to go back to Windows 10 as your notebook model is not fully tested and certified by HP for Windows 11. |
Try ...
(1) Backup <all> personal data (documents/pictures/videos etc...) to external USB hard drive
(2) Test your hardware Using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04499777
See how it works:

Only continue with (3) if no technical problems are detected!
(3) Downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10

Hi, @Nelway
If your notebook has the Nvidia/Intel switchable graphics adapters, you can only use the drivers on your notebook's support page.
Otherwise, you will 'break' the functionality of the switchable graphics adapters.
If your notebook has the onboard Intel graphics adapter only, you can read my knowledge base article at the link below for how to manually update the Intel graphics driver to the latest version...

I will probably follow your suggestion.
I am going to guess that HP will never look at a computer this old (even though it is new enough to meet Microsoft's requirements for Widows 11 and seems to be running it ok) So this computer is obsolete in 2025 even as an internet cruiser or office apps device.
