I am trying to connect a external monitor to my laptop HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0039nr. (offering 2 Thunderbolt™ 3 (40 Gb/s signaling rate, DisplayPort™ 1.2, Power Delivery 3.0, HP Sleep and Charge);
One of the USB type C port is connected to a hub offering VGA and HDMI. I tested both VGI and HDMI cable and connection from hub to monitor. No signal is received on external monitor.
The hub works fine for other type of ports. (this is on amazon: HUB is USB C Adapter for MacBook Pro 2019 2018 2017,USB C Hub USB C to HDMI VGA)
I never displayed anything on the ext. monitor (and yes I configured extend capability, upgraded the BIOS and tried a bunch of display drivers).
Then I even tested the ports with Hardware Diagnostics to test the USB ports.
I have got a message that somehow type C port cannot be tested.
Then what do i do from here???? What the point in offering ONLY 2 type C port if I can't use an external monitor?
Thank you

@laurenceinusa Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are unable to connect the external monitor to the laptop using a USB C type hub.
In that case, Please perform the USB test and let us know the result.
1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.
2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.
3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose USB and initiate the quick test.
Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.
