Hi @abs666
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your laptop is having display issues despite the hardware diagnostics coming back clean.
Here are some suggestions to address the pixelation problem:
Step 1: Reinstall the Graphics Driver
Even though you have the latest driver, the installed one might be corrupted. Reinstall it:
Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
Expand Display adapters and right-click on the Intel UHD Graphics 620.
Select Uninstall device and check the box for Delete the driver software for this device.
Restart your laptop, and let Windows install a fresh copy of the driver automatically.
Step 2: Use the Intel Driver and Support Assistant
If automatic updates don't resolve the issue, use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant. Intel® Driver & Support Assistant
Download the tool, install it, and let it check for the most stable driver version specific to your hardware.
Step 3: Adjust Display Settings
Go to Settings > System > Display and check the following:
Ensure the resolution is set to the recommended value for your screen (e.g., 1920x1080).
If you have multiple display options, select the correct one from the dropdown menu.
Step 4: Check for Compatibility Settings
Since your system was upgraded from an older Windows version, there might be legacy compatibility issues:
Press Win + X, open System, and go to Advanced system settings > Performance settings.
Select Adjust for best performance or customize the settings for smoother visuals.
Step 5: Update Windows
Make sure Windows 11 is fully up-to-date. Sometimes, system updates provide fixes for compatibility or driver conflicts.
Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.
Step 6: Run a Clean Boot
A clean boot can help determine if third-party applications (like MalwareBytes) are causing conflicts:
Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
Under the Services tab, select Hide all Microsoft services and click Disable all.
Reboot your laptop and test the display.
Step 7: Test External Display
Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV to verify whether the issue is with your display hardware or the GPU.
Step 8: Perform a System Restore
If the distortion started after a specific change (e.g., an update or software installation), you can roll back to a previous system state:
Type “System Restore” in the search bar and open it.
Choose a restore point from before the issue began.
If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
