Hi @via0,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your laptop sometimes shows inverted colors in videos (like on YouTube or OperaGX), while everything else on the screen looks normal. Let’s go through a few steps to fix this.

Restart the Laptop

A quick restart often resolves temporary glitches in the graphics driver.

After restarting, check if the video colors return to normal.

Toggle Hardware Acceleration

Open YouTube in a browser → Right-click on the video → Settings → Disable Hardware Acceleration (if available).

For OperaGX:

Go to Settings → System → Disable Hardware Acceleration.

Restart the browser and test video playback.

Update or Reinstall the Graphics Driver

Press Win + X → Device Manager → Display Adapters.

Right-click your graphics card (e.g., Intel, NVIDIA, AMD) → Update Driver → Search Automatically.

If the issue persists, uninstall the driver and reinstall the latest version from the manufacturer’s website.

Check Windows Color Filters

Press Win + Ctrl + C to toggle color filters (sometimes this shortcut is triggered accidentally).

Go to Settings → Accessibility → Color Filters and ensure it’s turned Off.

Disable Browser Extensions

Some extensions can interfere with video rendering.

Disable all extensions in OperaGX or your preferred browser and test again.

Run Video Playback Troubleshooter

Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other Troubleshooters → Video Playback → Run.

Follow the on-screen recommendations.

Check for System Updates

Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for Updates.

Install all pending updates, especially optional driver updates.

Test in Another App

Open a local video file using Windows Media Player or Movies & TV.

If the video plays normally there, the issue is likely browser-specific.

These steps usually resolve inverted colors caused by driver or browser rendering conflicts.

I hope this helps.
