HP E24 G4 FHD Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have an hp laptop 15-dy1xxx and I’m tryna to connect it to my HP E24 G4 FHD Monitor but nothing seems to be working. I’ve tried updating the driver I’ve tried different hdmi cords and as of me typing this I tried using a DisplayPort to hdmi adapter but still no success all I get on my monitor is no signal and all I get from my laptop is “we didn't find another display” if anyone has any suggestions that might help please let me know

@rico3xxx

What is your 15-dy1xxx machine ? For example

          HP Notebook 15-dy1031wm

Your machine probably has same ports as the above machine. Your monitor is

          https://www.hp.com/emea_africa-en/products/monitors/product-details/product-specifications/34514026

It has

  • 1 VGA;
  • 1 USB Type-B;
  • 1 DisplayPort™ 1.4 (with HDCP support;)
  • 1 HDMI 1.4 (with HDCP support);
  • 4 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1.

Your computer also has HDMI port therefore a direct HDMI to HDMI cable should work. Is there any error message ?

To use HDMI port (from computer) to DP port (on the monitor) you need a bidirectional HDMI-DP cable, normal cable won't work.

Regards.

When I use HDMI to HDMI from my laptop to monitor I don’t get a signal from the monitor and the laptop doesn’t detect the monitor but it does detect my Xbox. I’ve tried using using DisplayPort to HDMI adapter thinking that would work I didn’t it needed to but a cable I’ll order and try it that way, thanks for the suggestion
