I have 15-db0997na laptop and Wifi keeps dropping.
Router is fine, all other items that connect to the router, they stay connect with no issues,
I have checked drivers and it keeps telling me I have are the latest.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter too.
Any suggestions what else it could be? Laptop is only 4 months old.

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,
Please try these steps first.
1. Open CMD with Administrator
2. Type: sc config storsvc type= own
( this resets this service to its default state )
3. Restart the PC.
4. Check if this fixes it.
I recommend you try to follow the below steps:
Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
If it does not, please visit this link for further support: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 10)
Next thing, I would suggest here is to uninstall the wireless drivers from device manager:
Right-Click on start button> click device manager> Network adapters>then select the wireless drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the Wifi drivers.
Then restart the computer and check if you are able to go online.
Finally, please update the bios, chipset and wifi drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers Please select the country and follow the on-screen instructions.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
Let me know how it goes!

Thank you, I had tried some of them already and the ones I hadn't I have tried now but the issue has not resolved.
Whenever I turn wifi off and back on it will work for a few minutes then drops again.
Do I need to do factory reset? What else can I do, clearly something not right with network adapter.

In this scenario, I would suggest if you're comfortable reseating the card, go ahead and reseat the wireless card.
If the issue persists, I would suggest you can try to run a test on the Wireless card from F2 (Please capture the failure ID for further assistance).
If the test passes, I would suggest you perform a system reset on the PC.
You may refer to this support document - HP PCs - Resetting Your Computer (Windows 10)
Let me know how it goes!
Thank you 🙂

I did system reset but still the wifi cuts out. I can only assume there is a fault with the network adapter. Very annoying given that the laptop is only 4 months old.

Well I got my laptop back after just 8 days which was good considering there was a long weekend for Easter.
According to paperwork the WLAN Card was replaced and OS reinstalled due to a software issue.
Unfortunately the issue continues!!! As you can imagine I am far from happy!!!
