HP 240 Lunar White Bluetooth Mouse
Microsoft Windows 11

I have just bought the 240 mouse today and but the battery in but the led on top of the mouse is not working at all. I tried to reset it and put it into pairing mode but the light will not work and nothing can discover it. It is apparently out of warranty so i cannot get help elsewhere for this.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Brooke5118,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your mouse!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try the following steps:

Check the Battery & Battery Contacts

  • Ensure the battery is inserted correctly (check polarity + and -).
  • Try using a new battery, as sometimes new ones can be faulty.
  • Clean the battery contacts with a dry cloth to remove dust or corrosion.

Power & Pairing Mode Check

  • Turn the mouse off and on again.
  • Press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button (usually on the bottom) for 5-10 seconds.
  • If the LED still doesn’t light up, the mouse may not be receiving power.

Try a Different Device

  • Attempt to pair the mouse with another laptop, tablet, or phone to rule out PC issues.

Verify Bluetooth on Your PC

  • On your computer, turn Bluetooth off and on.
  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Add Device and search for new devices.

Check for Physical Damage

  • If the mouse was dropped or has visible cracks, internal damage might be preventing it from working.

Let me know if you need further help! 😊
