There's a good reason for that...

 

Your notebook comes with the Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n (1x1) and Bluetooth® 4.2 combo Wi-Fi adapter.

 

HP Notebook - 15s-du0096tu Product Specifications | HP® Support

 

That is a single band Wi-Fi adapter that only works on the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band.
