This is a discusssion I have found on this forum but it is old and has been archived so I can't comment on anyone who had done this to find out what model number to use. I want to put an Intel 7260 ac wifi card in my 8570P. I know it can be done I have seen posts and pictures of the wifi speed tests before and after but the only thing anybody ever says is that they used an Intel 7260 ac wifi card and I am finding out there are many different models could someone please help I can't afford to buy a new laptop. I'm sure some HP tech will pop on and say it can't be done just like in the archived subject but then people that have done it popped on with pictures proving they are running that card and even showed wifi speed test results before and after. This is going to be the last HP I ever buy they are the absolute worst for upgrading anything because of the stupid bios whitelist. HP are like used car salesman...oh you need a new battery I can sell you a $45,000 dollar truck! What a joke!

Hi:
Since you didn't link the archived discussion you were referring to in your post, I have nothing to comment on regarding what was done. I am surprised no one referenced the part number they used.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if this model card works. You can get them dirt cheap from China on eBay.
This is the model I have suggested other forum members use on notebooks with the Intel 3rd gen core processors.
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part # 710661-001
Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
BTW, HP got rid of the whitelists on most of their PC's in 2014 with very few exceptions.
The year yours was made, it was hit or miss. Some notebooks had whitelists, some didn't.

I don't know how to link the archived subject I don't know how to use this website I friended the guy that supposedly did it with my same model and there's no way to send too many messages even though he's my friend I can look at his profile and all that stuff. All I did was Google 8570p AC Wi-Fi card upgrade then on the Forum some people talked about different models the 6550 and and whatnot and the 8470 and then down to the bottom of the page after these people prove that you could do it there was a guy that popped on that said he did it with an 8570p but like I said I friended him and I can't send him a message and ask him what model he used to get it to work but he said the one he used work just fine Windows found the drivers and installed it and he didn't have to do anything. I don't really have the money to be trying a bunch of different cards or I would just buy a new laptop I broke my back in a car accident and I can't work I need a bunch of surgeries I have nothing to help me with income right now and it's probably going to be that way for the next year or two until I get all my surgeries
