My wifi keeps losing connection.
It shows a globe icon (where the wifi icon is usually located) and when right clicking it states to "manually" restart wifi.
Unfortunately this does not work (it pretty much ignores anything you do) and the only resolution seems to be:
Device Manager>NewtworkAdapters>Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260> Uninstall
Then restart the computer. This is starting to become a serious pain in the ass.
I have read quite a few forums but im not very technological so I require simple instructions. This issue seems to be common, and is largely solved by playing with the settings on the AC 8260.
1. AC 8260>Properties>PowerManagement>Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
This showed some imporvement, but has not resolved the issue.
2. AC 8260>Properties>Advanced (Doing something with these settings seem to solve the issue for mnay other users with other PCs).
This is where i need assisitance. What should i change the settings on the following to:
-802.11a/b/g Wiresless Mode
-802.11n/ac Wireless Mode
-Channel Width for 5GHz

I just want to say that I'm having the same issues. Over the past few months, I've had some small connectivity issues, such that when I shut the laptop and restart it tells me it's connected to the wifi but there is no connection (even though all other devices on the network are connected just fine).
But this week (starting maybe 2 days ago), it's happening repeatedly while I'm working - suddenly the internet doesn't work, then the wifi signal goes to a globe...it says it's connected to the network but that there's no internet even though everything else on the network has connection.
I haven't tried any of what you listed, but I will now....but this is getting really annoying and very disruptive.
