Hello I was having trouble finding an antenna for my HP 17bs049dx I posted the problem and it was clear this was a one off situation the antenna was no where to be found. However I found the complete laptop with a broken screen it was in better shape then mine so I bought it. I took the hard drive and mother board out of mine and put it in the new one Everything works great But I was looking at the mother boards and I noticed there are two memory slots one had a board and one is empty would it be to my advantage to take the memory and put it in the second slot of this laptop Would it increase the memory? Would it help with down loads or run a little faster Or would I have to do some re-configuring that is over my head
Thank you for your reply's
Fred

Hi, Fred:
Yes, adding memory in the empty slot would help performance both in the amount of memory and the fact that the memory will run in the higher performing dual channel mode, rather than the single channel mode it is currently running in with only one memory chip installed.
Should be plug and play.
See the service manual for the memory removal and replacement procedure.
