Good morning,

After installing the windows-update KB5086672 there's no longer network available on my HP-laptop. I changes network drivers, but nothing helped. After de-install the Windows update kb5086672 everything workes again and put Windows update now on hold, but can not be the solution. Thanks for your help.

Regards Peter.

Also tried with a lan cable and got the problem you got internet but couldn't find the proxyserver and dns.

After  de-install the kb5086672 everything works again and put windows update on hold, but think is not the solution.

Networkdriver Realtek RTL8852BE Wifi 6 802.11 ax PCle adapter is up to date according the system.

I also make a call to HP case 5127561786, but they closed because the network is ok now,

but i close windows update and de-install the kb5086672.

Thanks for the answer.

Good morning,

Today 11-04-2026 I tried again to update kb5086672 and there were 2 more other updates

(see screenshot below) and after installing all the updates the problem with no internet/wifi is solved,

so everything is working again now as before.

Now my casenumber [edited] (from 04-04-2026) can really 😊close.

You should keep Windows Update pause as a short-term step while awaiting a fix for KB5086672's network issues on your HP laptop. Microsoft will likely launch newer version with fix  Or if you don't want to pause windows update then better option is hide this update so windows won't install it and keep updated resume so other update can be installed. To do this:

First make sure to uninstall this update and have network working, then pause windows update and connect it to ethernet or wifi. Then follow beow steps

  1. Download "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter from Microsoft (wushowhide.diagcab) from this link- https://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f22d5fdb-59cd-4275-8c95-1be17bf70b21/wushowhide.diagca...
  2. Open the Microsoft update hide tool, click on "Hide Update," then select this KB5086672 update and click on next.
  3. Wait for tool show fixed in next screen. And that's all.

Now you can results windows update and this specific update wont be installed. Any newer or security updates will will be installed like before.
