When enabling "airplane mode" on Windows 10 Pro (1903), the button does not change color to orange when airplane mode is enabled to indicate "all wireless communication (wifi, bluetooth, cellular)" is Disabled. The "speaker mute" button does turn orange however when enabled to indicate that sound is Disabled.
I do not recall if the light ever turned orange when airplane mode on / wireless disabled, however it may have been due to recently installing Windows 10 updates (to version 1903).

I opened the "HP Recovery Manager" application and under "Reinstall drivers and/or applications", I selected the "HP Wireless Button Driver" to reinstall. After a reboot, the airplane mode (wireless disabled) button is now changing color to orange!
I did not see a way to identify drivers and HP software that needs updates and Windows 10 is fully up to date.
Apparently this issue requires simply knowing which drivers or software to "reinstall".
