Hello -- I'm mean and rude. I don't have a real problem. All I am trying to do is get specs for my compurter. When I call technical support on my HP ProBook 6570b. I ask about my serial port.
Technical Help response -- We don't understand -- We Can't Answer your question
Me: All I am asking for is -- does the HP ProBook 6570 b have a nine piin serial port. (Does anyone out there know what that means) -- Tech Support does not.
So since Im mean and frustrated -- Will anyone answer my questions
1. Does the HP ProBook 6570b have a 9 pin serial port
2. IF the HP ProBook 6570b does have the 9 pin serial port -- What is the common comm port does it use (Com1, Com2, etc)
3. This information would be very helpful for me
4. Tech Support cannot understand this stuff these days

HP Probook 6570b is a series of many models/products with many options/configurations therefore you have to check your machine which may or may not have this option. But all machine has Express card slot therefore you can use an dapater called ExpressCard RS232 Serial Adapter, for example
Regards.

Thank You fror the help -- Isn't that what techical support for ?? To answer the specifications of your item but no they seem to answer yes you have a modem -- I am not asking about a modem -- I am asking about a serial port and if it does wha t comm is assingned to it. Anyway I figured it out . The 9 pin port on the back of my computer is a 9 pin serial port. Using the dos mode command I found that my computer has com1 and com3 assinged. I pluged a 9 pin adapter in the back of the computer and did a loop back test with good old hyper terminal that is hard the find. The tests work . -- Thank you for your help
