Microsoft Windows 11

All of a sudden my hp envy can't recognize my printer which is, and has been on my network forever

I verified that my printer is on the same network, sharing with other devices, I've tried everything I know, and what I could find on the internet I will not even see the Epson WF- 7710 when directly connected to the printer via USB printer cable. It also stopped recognizing a MAC laptop and another laptop, as well as my phone.

Hi @jmmcoury,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that your HP ENVY laptop running Windows 11 has suddenly stopped recognizing your Epson WF-7710 printer, and the issue persists across multiple devices and connection types (USB, Wi-Fi, mobile). Here's how to troubleshoot the problem step-by-step:

1. Fully Power Cycle Everything

This resolves many connection issues.

➤ For the Printer:

  • Power it off.
  • Unplug it from the wall for 2 full minutes.
  • Plug it back in and power it on.

➤ For the Router:

  • Reboot your router (power cycle).
  • Wait for the network to fully come back online (2–3 minutes).

➤ For your Devices:

  • Restart your HP Envy laptop.
  • Do the same for other affected devices (Mac, phone, etc.).

2. Try USB Again (Direct Connection)

Since USB isn't working either:

  • Try a different USB port on your HP laptop
  • Try a different USB cable
  • Use Device Manager on your HP:
    • Press Windows + X > Device Manager
    • Under Printers or Universal Serial Bus, see if any unknown device appears
    • If it does, right-click → Uninstall → then Scan for hardware changes

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
