Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased a 2760p in excellent condition (replacement for the same model with the persistent keyboar issue). BUT it turns out that the new Elitebook does not have the internal Bluetooth module. Putting one in requires a near-complete teardown, so other options would be better. Has anyone simply swapped out the WIFI card for a compatible card that also has Bluetooth? I have done this successfully with some of my Dell systems. If so, which WIFI card did you use?

Hi:

Unlike Dell (where I have also swapped out Wi-Fi cards effortlessly), the HP 2760p has a BIOS whitelist which prevents the installation of any model Wi-Fi card other than those listed in chapter 3 of the service manual, and they must have the HP part number on them, or they will not work.

If you look at chapter 3 of the manual none of the supported Wi-Fi cards are combination Wi-Fi/Bluetooth cards.

So, your options are to field strip the notebook and install the BT module and cable that is supported or purchase a USB Bluetooth adapter.

Thanks! Very helpful - will go with USB until it's time to replace the display hinge (which I've done 4-5 times over the years) which will require that degree of teardown anyway.
