I have an issue ever since I bought my OmniBook X (has been a few days since I bought it). The issue is mainly concerned with bluetooth. I have a headset, Baseus Encok D02 Pro, that is very much working on every other device other than this one. What essentially happens is:-

  • I try to connect my headset, either says Couldnt Connect or connects immediately.
  • The headset appears correctly as an option in my settings and as an audio output device.
  • When I boot up a video to check, the audio is extremely cut off (barely any sound gets through) and eventually it disconnects automatically.

Bluetooth devices that do work include my Mouse, but my Stylus (a third party one) seems also not to work though that may be a compatibility issue since its non-Bluetooth (pick up and use).

I would like some help in this matter. I have installed and updated my drivers to the ones downloadable by HP support but to no avail, Windows is on the latest version, and the HP support app diagnostics say everything is A-OK. Do let me know the solution to my problem, as there is a warranty on this, and if the bluetooth chip itself has issues I can get it replaced.

Hi @itsamemario,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear you. Bluetooth issues like the one you’re facing with your OmniBook X and the Baseus Encok D02 Pro headset are unfortunately common when laptops ship with newer Bluetooth chipsets or drivers that don’t play nicely with certain audio profiles.

 Steps to Try

Remove and re-pair the headset

Go to Bluetooth & devicesRemove device → Restart → Re-pair.

Force stereo audio profile

Right-click the sound icon → Sound settings → Ensure the headset is set to “Stereo” not “Hands-Free.”

Update BIOS and chipset drivers

Download the latest BIOS and Intel Wireless drivers from Official HP® Support for OmniBook X.

Disable “Hands-Free Telephony”

Device Manager → Bluetooth → Headset → Properties → Services → Uncheck “Hands-Free Telephony.”

Test with another Bluetooth headset

If another headset shows the same issue, it points to the laptop’s Bluetooth chip.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
