I was using my bluetooth earphones and suddenly they disconnected. I tried turning on the bluetooth but the option was lighter (showing its not available) so I tried restarting the device but then the bluetooth option wasn't available so I tried troubleshooting and it shows "Bluetooth is not available on this device." Bluetooth driver is also not available in the device manager. What should I do?

PS I already installed the intel bluetooth driver from the website.

Hi,

If Bluetooth disappeared completely from Device Manager and the troubleshooter says “Bluetooth is not available on this device,” then Windows is not currently detecting the Bluetooth adapter. This is different from a normal pairing issue with the earphones.

Please try this order:

  1. Shut down the laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter and all external devices.
  3. Perform a power reset:
    • Hold the power button for about 15–20 seconds.
    • Reconnect the charger.
    • Start the laptop again.

HP recommends restarting the computer and checking Device Manager/driver updates when troubleshooting Bluetooth connection issues:
https://support.hp.com/ec-es/document/ish_3940873-3521181-16?fallbackLocale=us-en&validated=true

  1. Open Device Manager and select:
    View > Show hidden devices

Check under:

  • Bluetooth
  • Network adapters
  • Universal Serial Bus controllers
  • Unknown devices

Then click:
Action > Scan for hardware changes

  1. If Bluetooth still does not appear, install both the wireless/Wi-Fi driver and the Bluetooth driver from HP Support for your exact laptop model/product number. Bluetooth is usually part of the same internal wireless card, so installing only the Intel Bluetooth driver may not be enough if the Wi-Fi/chipset/platform driver is mismatched.

HP driver page:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops

  1. Also update:
  • BIOS
  • chipset driver
  • Wi-Fi driver
  • Bluetooth driver
  1. Run Microsoft’s Bluetooth troubleshooter / Get Help tool:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/bluetooth/fix-bluetooth-disappeared-in-windows
  2. If Bluetooth still does not appear anywhere in Device Manager, check BIOS/UEFI to make sure wireless/Bluetooth is enabled, if your model has that option.

If Bluetooth remains missing after BIOS/chipset/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth updates and a power reset, then the issue may be with the internal Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card itself or its connection. Please share the exact HP model/product number and the Wi-Fi adapter name from Device Manager.

I have tried all these things multiple times and the option did come back twice but then again it disappeared while I was using bluetooth (like got disconnected and vanished)
