Hi  @brumbrum12

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that Bluetooth works again after a cold shutdown, but then disappears intermittently, even though the latest drivers are installed and the HP Hardware Diagnostics test reports that Bluetooth is functioning normally.

To better understand the behavior, could you kindly share the below details?

  • The exact HP model or product number of your device - Click here for steps
  • Does the Bluetooth adapter disappear completely from Device Manager, or does it show with a warning symbol?
  • When the issue occurs, do Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth stop working together, or is only Bluetooth affected?

In the meantime, kindly try the following targeted steps:

  1. Open Device Manager -expand Bluetooth.
  2. Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Properties.
  3. Under the Power Management tab, uncheck:
    • Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
  4. Click Apply and restart the PC.

Next try the below steps :

  1. Open Control Panel -Power Options.
  2. Select Choose what the power buttons do.
  3. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  4. Disable Fast Startup.
  5. Save the changes and restart the computer.

You can also try resetting the Bluetooth services:

  1. Press Windows + R.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. Locate:
    • Bluetooth Support Service
    • Bluetooth User Support Service
  4. Ensure both are set to Automatic and are running.
  5. Restart the services and test again.

Additionally, kindly check if a newer BIOS version is available for your specific HP model through HP Support Assistant or the HP Support website- https://support.hp.com/ , as Bluetooth communication can sometimes be influenced by system firmware and chipset updates.

I hope this helps.
