pavillion AL 111TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have purchased HP Pavillion 14" series laptop with model no AL 111TX(Windows 10) three weeks back. Past two weeks I am getting problem with bluetooth option. The option disappears from that devices setting.

I have windows 10, post updating few updates as suggested by HP Support Assistant  the bluetooth option is disappearing very frequently atleast once in a day. I have tried all efforts by updating software and many other steps as breifed in the HP forum. But it hepls only for short time. Once I switch off the PC and start it again, bluetooth option agains goes off.

I feel its a new laptop with latest updates and such kind of problem should not occur at such initial stages. Kindly provide some good solution.

Regards

Hello, @SG_07

Thanks for the update!

It looks like the driver updates are somehow not compatible and causing the issue. For the time being, I would suggest using the "generic drivers". These are the default drivers which comes with the machine.

Follow the steps listed on my above post to uninstall the drivers from the device manager. Now, proceed to restart the notebook.

This will initiate the generic driver install of the Bluetooth drivers. Keep using this driver for now.

NB: do not perform the Bluetooth driver update now. Wait for few days and then try performing the update.

Hello, @SG_07 – Greetings!

Thanks for reaching out. I’d do my best to help 🙂

I see that you are having issues with the Bluetooth feature on your notebook. Appreciate your troubleshooting efforts so far. I’ll help you from here!

First, let’s the steps below:

  • Click the bottom-left Start button on desktop, type device manager in the search box and tap Device Manager on the menu to open the Device manager.
  • Right-click on the Bluetooth driver and select “Uninstall”.
  • Check the box which says “Delete the driver software” and then complete the uninstall.
  • Now restart the computer.
  • Wait for some time while the generic Bluetooth drivers are updated. Now check the functionality of the Bluetooth drivers and check.

Also, if the issue persists, then click on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76001-76500/sp76200.exe to install the Intel Bluetooth drivers.

If the issue still persists, I need to know the exact name of the Bluetooth adapter on your computer. Go to device manager and let me know the name of the Bluetooth adapter for further assistance.

Let me know how that goes. Good luck!

Cheers 🙂

Thanks for your kind help. It did help me out using the first method itself. But today post updating the softwares as suggested by HP Support Assistant the problem again persisted. I am unable to understand why such issue is occurring again and again.

I am finding it that the bluetooth driver is getting disabled automatically. Again and again I have to enable and restart the computer. However the suggestion by you did helped but I think some issue with the driver itself. Request any solutions if you have.

Hi! @SG_07, I am the MrRobot. It looks like you were interacting with @Dvortex, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.

Thanks for your response and time.

Please try the steps recommended below.

Press Win + X and select Device Manager
There you’ll find Bluetooth Adaptor
Right-click and select Properties.
Then I unchecked “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

Hope to hear from you soon!

Cheers! 🙂
