I can't have Bluetooth on my pc. When i try to add the device, it said "couldn't connect". Bluetooth doesn't even show up in device manager, and i did try show hidden devices.

Hi @Isabelle05,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it must be to have Bluetooth completely missing from your PC, especially when you’ve already tried showing hidden devices in Device Manager.

Could you please share:

The exact HP model of your PC .

The version of Windows you’re running (Windows 10, Windows 11, etc.).

if this is the first time you’re trying to use it.

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

Check BIOS settings Sometimes Bluetooth can be disabled at the BIOS level. Restart your PC, enter BIOS/UEFI setup, and confirm that the wireless/Bluetooth option is enabled.

Run Windows Troubleshooter Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter to see if Windows detects anything.

Update drivers via HP Support Assistant Install or open HP Support Assistant and check for driver updates. If Bluetooth hardware exists, it should prompt you to install the correct driver.

Verify wireless card presence If Bluetooth doesn’t appear in Device Manager at all, it’s possible your wireless card doesn’t include Bluetooth, or the module is disabled/disconnected. Checking your PC’s specifications will help confirm this.

Enable Bluetooth services Press Win + R, type services.msc, and ensure that Bluetooth Support Service is set to “Automatic” and running.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
