Bluetooth mouse keeps dropping out and reconnecting

HP Recommended
HP ENVY x360 - 15-ds0013ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bluetooth mouse 4.0 keeps disconnecting and reconnecting.  I have full charged the battery in the mouse, turned *all* power management to do with Bluetooth OFF.  Powering off the mouse and turning back on you still need to wait the same amount of time as for when the laptop decides to drop and reconnect.

I have noticed in at least one occasion that Settings, Bluetooth and other devices showed "driver error".  There does not appera to be any available updates.  Bluetooth hardware driver for Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
is: 10.0.18362.1

@Doctorlake

I reviewed your post and I understand that the Bluetooth connection to the mouse drops frequently.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

  • Does that happen only with the mouse?
  • What is the make and model of the mouse?
  • Have you tested with other Bluetooth devices?

Meanwhile, I recommend you uninstall the Bluetooth driver from the device manager and then download and install it from the below link and check if it helps.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp100501-101000/sp100556.exe

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
