HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bq1xx (Ryzen)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have problem with WiFi/Bluetooth combo card of my HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bq1xx (Ryzen) laptop:

When actively using WiFi internet connection I can see my bluetooth devices to stop working (Microsoft Surface ARC mouse and Jabra bluetooth headset).

Bluetooth can be disabled in Windows 10 but can not be reenabled anymore unless I reboot the laptop.

I have contacted HP support and they have updated BIOS to F.17 and bluetooth driver, but the problem is still present.

Does anyone else have problems with Bluetooth on RTL8822BE? Does anyone else have Intel WiFi/Bluetooth combo instead of Realtek on Ryzen laptop model, as was advertised by HP when I ordered it?

Is there a way to replace the WiFi/BT combo via HP warranty?

Thanks

@Volo

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I have gone through your Post and I would like to help

I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the wireless driver directly from Device Manager

- Select the Start  button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
- Look for Network Adapters and expand the List
- Look for Wireless/ Bluetooth driver then right-click it, and select Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver: Open Device Manager, right-click the Wireless/ Bluetooth driver and select Uninstall. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Also download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/in/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_in/en/any/psg/p.... This will search for the latest HP drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Ensure your Windows 10 has the latest updates

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

If none of these fix the issue, please perform a Push Button Reset

Thank you for your reply!

I have performed the recommended actions and the bluetooth and WiFi did update via Device Manager, Update Driver.

Windows is fully updated with all available updates, HP Support Assistant did not find any updates available even befor searching for updates via Device Manager.

Will test for some time and see how it behaves over time.

Will report if the problem persists.

Current WiFi driver is: 2024.0.1.102 from 24 Jul 2018

Bluetooth: 1.5.1012.3 from 23 Jul 2018

Unfortunately I still see sometimes bluetooth (and recently WiFi) stopping working and disappearing from devices. Have to shut down the laptop and switch on again.

Quite annoying. Tried different drivers, does not look like software issue.

@Volo,

It looks like you were interacting with @KrazyToad  & @The_Fossette, but they are  out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Jeet_Singh & I'm at your service.

After reviewing your post thoroughly, I see that you are still having the issue. Don't worry we're here to help you.

I would suggest you go ahead and ensure Windows is updated on your PC - HP PCs - Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update (Windows 10, 8, 7)

Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the Bios, and Wireless card drivers on you PC from our HP support website, using this link.

Once done, restart the computer.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest here is to run a test on the wireless card from F2(Please capture the failure ID for further assistance).

If the test fails, then this could indicate a possible hardware failure.

If the test passes, I would suggest the last resort would be to reset the computer - HP PCs - Resetting Your Computer (Windows 10)

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Hi, to answer your questions:

My OS was already updated to Windows ver. 1809 (17763.55)

My BIOS is already F.17 and I don't understand why version F.02 is newer than F.17? Should I downgrade to F.02?

My current WiFi Realtek driver is 2024.0.1.102 (probably Microsoft updated it)

My current Bluetooth driver is 1.5.1012.3 (also probably from MS)

Should I downgrade WiFi and bluetooth to 2023.66.1104.2 and 1.0.0.79 from HP website?

PS. I recently updated Graphics driver to newest AMD VEGA desktop driver 25.20.14003.1010 and could finally solve the bluescreen issue during Video playback (e.g. youtube) after resuming from sleep state, that was present since beginning with HP Graphics driver. This is to note that there is finally a working solution with AMD VEGA 8 drivers.

And follow up: Wifi/BT issue does not happen too often: it may be few times a day, and it may not appear for few weeks. Hard to debug, really.

@Volo

I'm the Riddle_Decipher & I'm writing on behalf of my colleague @Jeet_singh, as the tech is out for the day, that said, I have reviewed your concern and the entire conversation, did some research and here's what I recommend:

1. Click the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot.

2. Under Find and fix other problems, select Bluetooth > Run the troubleshooter.

3. Windows 10 will then start to detect and fix the Bluetooth problems automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the troubleshooting process to complete.

If the issue persists, you can try the below steps:

You may need to proceed this Bluetooth device bugs troubleshooter with the Administrator privilege.

1. Press Win + R to open the Run box. Type services.msc into it and then hit Enter.

2. Locate the Bluetooth Support service on the Services dialog and right-click it to select Restart.

3. Then double-click the Bluetooth Support service. Change the Startup type to Automatic under the General tab.

Bluetooth-support-service.png

4. Then click Apply and OK to save and then exit the service dialog.

If none of the above works, please try the below steps to use a generic Bluetooth driver:

1. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features. Locate your Bluetooth device and Right click it to choose Uninstall.

2. Press Win + X to choose Device Manager. Expand the category Bluetooth and then right click your Bluetooth device to Uninstall.

Notes: Leave the "delete the driver software for this device" box unchecked. And if you have more than one driver listed for your Bluetooth device there, you should repeat this step for each of the devices.

3. Restart your computer and Windows will then help to reinstall the Bluetooth device driver automatically.

The last resort, if you haven't done a reset yet, is to create a backup of all important data into an external storage and then, performing a reset: Click here for steps.

Keep us posted,

Thank you for suggestions:

Looks like changing service startup to "automatic" made possible to reenable bluetooth after resuming from sleep.

Microsoft Arc Mouse does not work automatically after resume, but at least shows up after I disable and reenable bluetooth in settings.

Will see soon for more issues and will write back.

Still, it takes about 10 seconds after re-enabling bluetooth for Arc Mouse to appear and up to one minute for HP Ink pen to start working.

Atleast no need for PC reboot.

I do not yet mark the issue as solved as sometimes bluetooth and WiFi had issues under heavy load (e.g. downloading big amount of data via WiFi, watching HD streams.

Best regards, Volo
