Hi,
I have problems with pairing bluetooth devices with my laptop ProBook 4740s (Ralink RT3290 chip).
It can detect bluetooth devices and start pairing but it failed.
When I try pairing with phone or another laptop, it finishes with failed authorisation message or timeout. I see no actions on bluetooth devices that time (no notification, nor accept window).
The devices I checked with another laptop - there is correct.
Pairing started from devices to ProBook also failes.
How can I solve it?
Regards,
Piotr
PS
Laptop was originaly bought with Windows 8, and further upgraded to Windows 10.

Hi:
I don't see a W10 Ralink bluetooth driver listed on your notebook's support page.
If you did not install the W10 Ralink BT driver, here it is...
This package contains the driver installation package for the Mediatek Bluetooth in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Windows 10 detects it correctly and install correct driver:
Mediatek Bluetooth Adapter, 2.3.1.0, 24-04-2015
The same is in sp71572.exe that you pointed; part of rtusb.inf file from that package:
[Version] Signature = "$WINDOWS NT$" Class = Bluetooth ClassGuid = {e0cbf06c-cd8b-4647-bb8a-263b43f0f974} Provider = "Mediatek" DriverVer = 04/24/2015, 2.3.1.0000 CatalogFile.ntx86 = rtmsbt.cat CatalogFile.ntamd64 = rtmsbtx.cat
During the installation, I saw that sp71572.exe installs bluetooth stack as well, so maybe there could be some improvements.
Unfortunatelly, after that instalation nothing changed - Blutooth is still not working.
(the version you mentioned, i.e. 11.0.761... , is the version of the package, where the driver is contaned with version number 2.3.1.0),

I found that problems on my computer may be related to Windows Defender.
When I disabled real-time protection I was able to pair with some devices: a phone and Raspberry-Pi3.
The problem is not solved yet, I cannot make pairing from Raspberry-Pi to laptop, and still observe some problems with connections and service discovery.
